Wild Magnolia
Wild Magnolia Land Trust is a year-round program stewarded by Arco Iris Earth Care Project, managing our 400-acre Ozark wilderness dedicated to wildlife conservation, environmental education, and the preservation of indigenous sustainability skills. This pristine Ozark hardwood forest is conserved to protect the rare and vital environment of the Ozarks and to preserve indigenous sustainability practices and Native American education.
A key part of our commitment to this land is La Caminata, our most important annual community gathering. On April 5, 2025, we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Wild Magnolia Land Trust. La Caminata is a spiritual pilgrimage that unites our diverse community to honor and participate in a traditional Native American ceremony focused on protecting Mother Earth.
To support these traditions and expand our conservation efforts, we established La Hadra, a large pavilion and outdoor kitchen located at the heart of the Wild Magnolia conservation area. It serves as a space where we promote the conservation of our Ozark wilderness areas and foster the indigenous people's sacred ways of living in harmony with the earth. Constructing La Hadra is the first step toward realizing a larger vision of building a sustainable community, natural health center, and school on the land. The space is available to host workshops and courses on environmental education.
Wild Magnolia Land Trust, La Caminata, and La Hadra embody our commitment to conservation, community, and indigenous wisdom. As we celebrate 25 years, we continue to protect the Ozark wilderness, honor our ancestors, and empower future generations to live in harmony with Mother Earth. -

La Caminata Community Day
Thank you to everyone who joined us!
For 42 years, our community has come together for La Caminata, walking the land in prayer and reverence for the well-being and protection of Mother Earth and all our relations. This year, approximately 35 participants, including several children, joined us for a beautiful day with perfect weather guiding the walk.Following the ceremony, we gathered at Rancho Arco Iris to share food, drinks, and time around the fire pit, closing the day in connection and community.

Indigenous Environmental Sustainability Ethics Internship Program
Our program empowers womyn of color, POC, and LGBTQ university students by reframing traditional Western education through the lens of Indigenous ancestral sustainability ethics, skills, and practices. By centering natural healing justice, environmental conservation, and climate impact awareness, we equip participants with the knowledge and tools to create lasting change in their communities, addressing systemic inequities through education, sustainability, and cultural resilience.

Out in the Woods
Out in the Woods is a weekend camping retreat designed to give LGBTQ+ folks a chance to truly be “Out” in the woods—embracing nature in a welcoming, safe, and affirming space.
Come experience the beauty and healing power of the Ozark wilderness. Hike through lush forests, swim in a spring-fed creek that flows into the Buffalo River, and gather in a Native American healing talking circle in a serene natural setting.
